I'm a pirate. Yarr. I need some DVD creation software, like Nero Vision, such that I can create regular DVD-Video discs with menus, with television episodes that are converted from my illicit AVI files. I'd like to go from my torrents, to my DVD shelf, with some work in between but a good end result. I don't use Nero because it a) BORKS my system, every time, every computer, no fail, Nero fails eventually and b) doesn't let me do what I want with the DVD menus - i.e. I can't make it put in an 'easter egg' style extra button, where you go to the middle of the buttons, wait for a part of the background animation, and then press a direction that shouldn't exist but then you find the extra button (if you have the retail Scooby Doo movie DVD it has exactly this) <- this is the kind of control I am looking for, and have never found. I'll settle for a decent program that will let me put a picture for the background, and have each AVI as a title, with chapters, linked from the menu (and hopefully a submenu) Super bonus if it allows for selectable subtitles, and MKV or other multi-audio-channel files (AVI can do this too but for some reason nobody ever does!) such that the resulting DVD is able to use the 'Audio' button on my player's remote to go from Japanese to English audio.
